Two Stolen Paintings Are Found
“The recovered paintings — Claude Monet’s “Poppy Field at Vetheuil,” valued at about 20 million Swiss francs and Vincent van Gogh’s “Blooming Chestnut Branches,” worth about 50 million francs — were found in a car close to the crime scene, police said. However, the four armed robbers who on Feb. 10 stormed the museum in what is Europe’s biggest art theft on record, are still at large.”
