Jarvis Cocker has a new album coming out this month. Further Complications will be released May 19th. The really amusing news is that Jarvis is spending an entire week in a Parisian art gallery performing live to promote his new album. You can watch the videos on his website. Jarvis explains, “Back in October 2006, when I was asked to edit The Observer Music Monthly in the UK, I asked the question ‘What is Music for?’. Two & a half years on I would like to shorten that question to: WHAT IS MUSIC?” So yeah… Jarvis Cocker is amazing. I am eager to hear the new album. The phenomenon of Pulp will never be revisited, but that is the beauty of his solo work. I have to confess, I enjoy the musical ramblings of an 46-year-old aging pop-star—especially, one with such style.

It’s too bad Told You Twice, a song he debuted on tour last year, did not make it onto the album. But here’s the track listing according to Amazon:

1. Further Complications
2. Angela
3. Pilchard
4. Leftovers
5. I Never Said I Was Deep
6. Homewrecker
7. Hold Still
8. Fuckingsong
9. Caucasian Blues
10. Slush	Listen
11. You’re In My Eyes (Discosong)

About

Jumpsuits & Teleporters is a blog about art, science, technology, and cultural bricolage.

Author

Hi! My name is Whitney Dail. I am an emerging cultural worker, arts administrator, and STEM to STEAM advocate who was raised in the DC/MD area with two brothers, a computer technician and an architect, by a Naval aviator-engineer and artist-entrepreneur. I have a Master’s in Arts Administration from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). My goal is to explore relationships between art, science, and technology through writing, curating, and contributing to multidisciplinary creative communities.
